Intro
There are many different possibilities for scoring an AAT competition. You could use speed only (non-finishers get a % penalty on their speed) as used in sailplane competitions, or a simple place based system could be used.

However, it must be understood that the WPRS allocates points based on a pilots % score compared to the winner (is this a flaw with the current WPRS?). This means the scoring system used should allocate points in a similar manner as other competititons - we need to use some form of GAP to do the scoring.

We also need to evaluate the tracklogs - and this can only (?) be achieved using SeeYou. Until someone develops a suitable script for SeeYou, we will then have to transfer the information provided by SeeYou into GAP-based scoring software such as FS.

Evaluating flights using SeeYou:
1. Open .cuc script - any scipt will do
2. Setup task as AAT (Task Options/use flight fixes)
3. download flights
SeeYou will display each pilots distance, time and speed for use in FS.

Transfering the data to FS:
1. Setup competition to use GAP2008 with distance points and time points only
2. Create a task with the length equal to the maximum distance
3. Convert SeeYou duration to match the task length
4. Input converted duration (or distance for non-finishers) into FS

Variations
A. SeeYou has 2 methods for calculating the distance of non-finishers (Task options/uncompleted leg) - calculate minimum distance to next observation zone or calculate maximum distance from last observation zone. Local rules need to detail which of these methods will be used and explain how it actually works.
B. Calculating the maximum distance could be as simple as choosing the maximum distance from the results provided by SeeYou. However, you may want to consider the possibilty that a non-finisher was attempting a distance longer than this and assign the maximum distance to match their attempted distance. Otherwise a non-finisher than is, say, 10km short of goal may be scored as being less than 10km from goal. Again, the Local Rules need to state how maximum distance will be determined.
C. Use start gate(s)? This is part of the task setting and is a decision that can be made by the task committee. How will you deal with early starts need to be stated in the Local Rules.
